To explore the form follows function concept by investigating formal and organic, to distinguish between hard and softer material in the modelling of small spaces.

Small space design needs firstly to take into consideration the functionality of space, then follows form. The courtyard serves as a social gathering space with a BBQ and is in need for open lawn for kids play. Screening shrubs to peripherals and planted pergolas create privacy between courtyards.  

Formal – Designing with well-defined rigid shapes. In-situ concrete is utilized for the patio space, bench and built up planters. Planting design is almost symmetrical in layout with monoculture species.
